摘要
综述了烟粉虱Bemisia tabaci(Hemiptera:Aleyrodidae)共生细菌的多样性及研究现状.烟粉虱以植物韧皮部汁液为食,体内存在原生共生细菌和次生共生细菌.原生共生细菌可以提供寄主昆虫食物中缺乏的必需氨基酸,而次生共生细菌的功能目前尚不清楚,但可能在影响寄主进化的间接方面具有重要作用.指出共生细菌功能研究的"瓶颈"在于无法实现体外纯培养.最后,讨论了共生细菌在害虫防治方面的应用前景和发展方向.
Whiteflies and other hemipterans have the unique ability to feed exclusively on phloem sap, which is rich in carbohydrates and deficient in essential amino acids. This ability has been undoubtedly linked to the endosymbionts of these insects. Diversity of endosymbionts of whitefly Bemisia tabaci was summarized. In addition to primary endosymbiont Candidatus Portiera aleyrodidarum, B. tabaci may also harbor several seconda- ry endosymbionts, such as Candidatus Hamiltonella defense, Wolbachia, Arsenophonus, Cardinium hertigii, Fritschea bemisiae and Rickettsia. Advances in interactions between B. tabaci and their endosymbionts were also reviewed. Primary endosymbionts could supply their host's diet with essential amino acids and were essential for the development and reproduction of their insect hosts. The functions of secondary endosymbionts were not fully understood, but probably play a direct and/or indirect role in the evolution of their insect hosts. The potential application and prospect of endosymbionts in whiteflies and other hemipterans control were also discussed.
