This paper refers to the recent progress toward ultra-sensitivity EMCCD. The all-solid charge avalanche multiplying registers are incorporated into the device, and signal charges are multiplied during the readout process. Thus the gaze-imaging is realized. By detailing the components and the operating principle of the device, its potential advantage will be clear. Finally, the paper states the future of its application.
