Construal level theory distance, conceptualized proposes that psychological as the subjective experiences of time, place ,people and hypothetical ahernatives to reality, influences an individual' s responses to events by changing the way people mentally represent these events. Specifically, high-level construals are more likely to be used in the representation of distal events and low-level construals to be used in the representation of proximal events. The differences in representations bring about significant psychological consequences:the value associated with high-level construal was more influential in choices for distal events, whereas the value associated with low-level construal was more crucial for proximal events.
