摘要
旌表制度是中国古代社会维持社会风教的重大动力之一,其源头可追溯至先秦时期。先秦时期"旌"、"表"二字字义的发展为"旌表"一词的构成奠定了基础,而且于先秦时期的史籍中即能觅得此词的最早影踪;先秦时期一些表彰的内容和方式,堪称后世旌表制度的典范;先秦是旌表制度的萌芽时期,此时的旌表带有原始性和弱势的一面,又具有开创性和典型性的特征。
Honor- conferring system is one of the important impetus for maintaining social civilization and morality, and it was originated during the Pre- Qin Period. The semantic development of the two Chinese characters ＂Jing＂ （honors） and ＂Biao＂ （to confer） is the basis of the formation of the term of ＂Jingbiao＂ （honor - conferring）, and can be found in the Pre- Qin historical records. And certain honor- conferring methods of that period exemplify exactly this system in later periods. In conclusion, the Pre - Qin Period is its budding period, bearing the traits of its being in the embryo and of its innovativeness.
