摘要
标记性名词在专业和学术类语篇中有较高的使用频率,表现出词汇语法的综合体或连续体,在不断展开的语篇或话语中具有较强的语篇意义构建和话语组织能力。以往对这类特殊词汇的研究主要从形式入手,集中在其词汇衔接方面,本文尝试应用认知语言学中的相关理论对其的语篇作用进行探讨,并做出合理解释,同时说明认知语法在语篇分析中的实际价值。
Signaling nouns have a high frequency of use in academic and professional text, demonstrating the continuum or combination of grammatical and semantic features in the expanding text or discourse. It has long been recognized that such special categories of words in English have a strong capacity for the potential meaning construction and organization of text or discourse. The previous studies mainly focused on the formal analysis, especially lexical cohesion. This paper tries to explain the textual function of these words in terms of some related theories in Cognitive Linguistics, and to illustrate the value and application of Cognitive Linguistics in actual discourse or text analysis.
