现有的转换分析法和将双宾语结构基本语义定义为"致使拥有"的分析法都不能准确地揭示语言事实。本文根据Chomsky(2005a,2005b,2006)近期提出的"语段理论",构建了双宾结构的参数化分析模式,以动态的方式分析了英汉双宾语结构的生成机制和结构差异。本文研究发现,双宾语结构中存在一个表"传递"义的功能语类G,英汉双宾语结构的差异应归结于此功能语类,G的值不同,导致了不同类型的双宾语结构的生成。本文还讨论了英汉双宾动词的分类及其进入双宾语结构的情况。
This paper adopts a parametric approach to the analysis of the double object construction (DOC). It is argued that there exists a functional category which expresses the meaning of transference associated with DOC and determines the directionality of transference. The functional category is postulated to take on parameterized value as it might be null (as in English) or phonologically realized (as in Chinese, which can also be null). This feature gives rise to different types of DOC as well as the differences between English and Chinese in DOC. In conformity with Chomsky's(2005a, 2005b, 2006) Phase Theory, a unified account is proposed of the derivation of DOC in both English and Chinese. In addition, this paper also discusses Case and theta-role assignment in DOC, and the classification of ditransitive verbs in both languages.
