Considerations on Architecture for Next-Generation Internet

摘要 体系结构对计算机网络的发展具有重要的指导作用,如果没有充分明确的体系结构原则,设计者只能从短期目标出发,从点上解决具体问题。随着网络的发展,具体解决方案聚集增多,只会导致设计上的复杂、混乱和不灵活。文中从计算机网络所面临的问题入手,分析了目前网络体系结构存在的缺陷和不足,总结了目前体系结构研究的一些新思想,提出了构建下一代Internet网络体系结构的思考。文章中的一些思考对新一代网络体系结构的研究有参考价值。 Architecture plays an important role in the development of computer network. Without fully defined architectural principle, the designers can only start with temporary target and resolve some specific problems. As time goes by, this method inevitably leads to complexity, chaos and inflexibility in the network design. This paper analyzes flaws and shortages existing in present architecture, sums up some new ideas in architecture study, gives some thoughts on how to construct the next-generation Internet architecture. This paper is a good reference for the study of next-generation network architecture.
