摘要
习语是语言在使用过程中形成的独特的固定的表达方式,是语言文化的结晶,概括人类文化经验的精髓。英汉两种语言中都有许多脍炙人口的习语。通过对习语与语言文化、英汉习语翻译的基本原则和翻译实例三个方面的阐述,说明英汉习语翻译中表现出的生存环境、习俗、宗教信仰、历史典故以及价值观与审美意识等方面中西文化的差异。
Idiomatic phrases are special and fixed expressions that a language forms in the process of using. They generalize the core part of human culture experience. There are many excellent idiomatic phrases in both Chinese and English. This essay expatiates on idiomatic phrases and language culture, the basic translation discipline of idiomatic phrases and translation examples, explaining the differences between Chinese culture and western culture from five aspects, such as survival environment, convention and faith.
