Turbulent Times--A recent strike by China Eastern pilots highlighted the current woes plaguing the Chinese airline industry

摘要 Passengers were puzzled when the captain of China Eastern （东航） flight MU5947 from Kunming toLijiang announced shortly after take-off on March 3I, 2008 that the plane was turning around and returning to Kunming due to bad weather. Conditions seemed great, and the forecast for Lijiang on that day had not indicated any adverse weather.
