摘要
本文旨在对谚语进行认知语言学研究。文章首先运用Lakoff & Turner的概念隐喻理论来分析理解谚语的一般认知推理过程,然后指出该理论在分析谚语的复杂性,尤其是分析相互矛盾谚语方面存在的不足之处,接着文章运用Lakoff的架构理论分析谚语中的跨文化特征和矛盾现象,揭示相互矛盾的谚语的认知理据及其架构功能。
The purpose of this paper is to present a cognitive linguistic study of proverbs. After analyzing the general reasoning process of proverb understanding within the framework of Lakoff and Turner's Conceptual Metaphor Theory,the author points out its insufficiencies in analyzing the complexity of proverbs,especially conflicting proverbs. Then the paper explores the cognitive motivation of proverbs and their framing functions through a detailed analysis of the cross-cultural features and conflicting proverbs within the framework of Lakoff's Frame Theory.
