Endothelial Progenitor Cells and Oxidative Stress

摘要 内皮祖细胞(endothelial progenitor cells,EPCs)是成熟内皮细胞的前体细胞,参与损伤组织的血管新生和再内皮化。研究表明,氧化应激能引起EPCs的数量减少和功能减弱。虽然EPCs存在抗氧化酶系统,但是当细胞正常的氧化还原稳态失衡时,活性氧过度产生而聚积,引起氧化应激,导致细胞的衰老或凋亡。 Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) are the precursors of mature endothelial cells and are involved in neovascularization and reendothelization. Previous studies have shown that oxidative stress can reduce the number of EPCs and impair the function of EPCs. Although EPCs possess their antioxidative enzymes, an oxidative stress may still occur, when redox homeostasis is disturbed and reactive oxygen species (ROS) is excessively accumulated, which leads to cellular senescence or apoptosis.
