Objective To study the protein expressions of pituitary tumor transforming gene(PTTG), Survivin, P53 inpituitary neoplasms, and to explore the association between the expressions and the biological behavior in pituitary neoplasms. Methods Immunohistochemistry in 48 patients with pituitary neoplasms who were divided into invasive and recurrent and non-invasive groups. The difference in the expressions between the 3 groups and the correlation among the expressions were analyzed. Results The protein expressions of PTTG, Survivin and P53 were significantly higher in invasive and recurrent groups than those in non-invasive group. The positive relation was found among the protein expressions of PTTG, Survivin and P53. Expressions of Ki-67 were significantly higher in invasive, recurrent and non-invasive groups. The nonrelation was found. Conclusions The abnomal expressions of PTTG, Survivin and P53 may have important rules in tumor genius and progressions of pituitary neoplasms and can be considered as the indicators of the invasiveness of pituitary neoplasms and individual chemotherapy.
