Objective To investigate the expression rate of TGF-β1 and NOS2 in the synovial membrane of osteoarthritis(OA) ,and to study the relationship between the two factors. Methods The synovial membrane of osteoarthritis were immunohistochemically detected with TGF-β1 and NOS2 , respectively. The results were analyzed with spearman's rank correlation. Results The expression rates of TGF-β1 and NOS2 were 60% ,13. 3% ,respectively. The correlation coefficient between TGF-β1 and NOSz was not statistically significant( G = 0. 306, P 〉 0.05). Conclusions The expression of TGF-β1 and NOS2 on the synovial membrane of osteoorthritis is irrelevant. The expression rate of TGF-β1 in osteoarthritis is relatively lower than in normal tissues ,though NOS2 is relatively higher. The two factors are associated with destructive process in OA.
