With 1-aza-2-methoxyl-1-cycloheptene as material, N-methyl hexanolactam was synthesis under non-solvent, and molar ratio of dimethyl sulfate to the cycloheptene is 1:10. Reaction temperature in 95oC, and time in 6hr, the yield of N-methyl hexanolactam is 76.3%.
