摘要
语言是交际工具,有其相应的语用功能。文章以政治外交用语为例进行研究,发现外交事务中为了自己国家的利益,常用模糊策略来实现诸如礼貌、自我保护或留有余地等各种语用功能。
Much progress has been made in the areas of vague language study. This paper focuses on selected political diplomatic language materials to study the pragmatic functions of vagueness in diplomacy. In diplomatic affairs, spokesman chooses vague strategies to show politeness, to create a harmonious atmosphere, to be euphemistic and self-protecting, to be flexible and to be tactful.
