摘要
探讨检索期刊主题标引在什么情况下使用自由词和如何选取自由词等问题，并结合标引工作实践，总结使用和选取自由词的方法。
Abstract In the indexing documents, some subject factors haven′t relative normative words, and they must be expressed in free words. Applying quasi normative words and/or special terminologies to index can reinforce the normalization of free words and compensate the deficiency of them.
