低玻璃化温度大分子RAFT-PBA对PDLC形貌的影响

摘要 聚合物分散液晶(PDLC)的形貌对其电光性能有着极其重要的影响,通过控制固化条件实现对PDLC形貌的调控有着重要的实用价值。采用可逆加成-断裂链转移自由基(RAFT)聚合法制备了PDLC,研究了低玻璃化转变温度的大分子RAFT试剂聚丙烯酸丁酯(RAFT-PBA)含量和固化时间对PDLC形貌及关态透光率的影响。结果表明,随着固化时间的延长,PDLC关态透光率降低,最后趋于不变。液晶微滴尺寸随RAFT-PBA含量增加而逐渐增大,当其含量为15%时,PDLC的关态透光率最低。 The morphology of polymer dispersed liquid crystals (PDLC) has a great influence on their electro-optical properties, so there is an important academic value to adjust the morphology of PDLC through the different curing conditions, In this paper, reversible addition fragmentation transfer (RAFT) polymerization was employed to prepare PDLC in the process of polymerization induced phase separation (PIPS). The effects of RAFT-PBA concentration and curing time on morphology and OFF-state transmittance of PDLC were studied. It was found that the OFF--state transmittance of PDLC decreases with increasing the curing time, and then keeps constant.The more RAFT-PBA there are in the PDLC films, the bigger the radius of the liquid crystal droplets become, The lowest OFF-state transmittance was achieved when the concentration of RAFT-PBA in the systems was 15 %.
