The Impact of RTS Threshold on Capacity of IEEE 802.11 DCF

摘要 Based on delicate mathematical model, the average time in a successful and unsuccessful transmission is worked out. Then the relation between network saturation throughput and RTS threshold is found and expressed in a theoretical formula. Our analysis shows that there is an optimum RTS threshold that can maximize the network capacity. The numerical techniques to find out the optimum RTS threshold are also presented.
