Gastrodia elata Bl. is an important Chinese traditional medicine,and much research has been done recently. Classification,life history,molecule research,chemistry element, pharmacological effect and cultivation technique for Gastrodia data Bl. were summarized in the paper. The aspect of exploitation was analyzed.
