摘要
英、汉两种语言中都存在着大量的以马作喻体的隐喻,英汉"马"隐喻的偶合体现了中西文化的重合性;两种语言中"马"隐喻的失配现象,反映出中国与英语国家之间在地域文化、价值观念、民俗文化等方面的差异性;而英汉"马"隐喻的交融,则为我们展现出一幅中西文化随着相互借鉴与交流而日益趋同的发展前景。
There are a great deal of ＂horse＂ metaphors in both English and Chinese. The coincidence of the＂horse＂ metaphors in the two languages manifests the superposition of Chinese and Western cultures; while the mismatching of the ＂horse＂ metaphors reflects the differences between the two cultures, mainly in the fields of geographic cultures, the values and the folk customs. And more importantly, the syncretism trend of English and Chinese ＂horse＂ metaphors has showed us a resplendent prospect of blending and exchange for Chinese and Western euhures.
