摘要
小波分析是当前数学中一个迅速发展的新领域,同时具有理论和应用的双重意义。由于小波变换具有传统的DCT正交变换的能量紧致性,同时还具有与人类视觉系统很相似的特性,因此在图像压缩领域受到关注。文章介绍了小波理论及正交小波变换的快速算法(Mallat算法),分析了小波变换的统计特性,讨论了小波变换在图像压缩领域内的应用。
Wavelet analyze is now a newly emerged branch of mathematics, which is characterized by the profound theory and wide applications. Because the wavelet analyse has the same power intensity as the traditional DCT transformation and it is closed to the ocular system of human being. It is now widely noticed in the field of image compression. The article introduce the wavelet analyse firstly and then the its algorithm (the Mallat algorithm), its statistical characteristic, and finally, the application of wavelet analyse in the field of image compression.
