摘要
本文通过阐明网络位置对网络成员决策和资源获取的影响,提出了"位置嵌入"概念,由此把社会嵌入的"关系—结构"构成理论发展为"关系—位置—结构"构成理论。在此基础上,解析了海外子公司的东道国网络结构,分析了网络学习方式在东道国网络结构与网络学习效果间的调节效应,以123家跨国公司在华子公司为样本的实证检验发现:(1)探索型学习负向调节了关系嵌入强度与网络学习效果间的关系;(2)探索型学习正向调节了网络密度与网络学习效果间的关系;(3)利用型学习正向调节了网络密度与网络学习效果间的关系;(4)利用型学习正向调节了群体中心度与网络学习效果间的关系。
The networking of the world economy and the development of network organizations make network learning important for overseas subsidiaries acquiring resources in their host country. Using theories from social networking, social capital and network learning, this paper analyzes how the network positions of overseas subsidiaries influence decision-making and resource acquisition in the host country and proposes the important concept of "positional- embeddedness". In view of the above, this paper extends the "relationship-structure" theory based on social-embeddedness to a "relationship-position-structure" theory emphasizing positional- embeddedness. This paper then analyzes the network structure of the host county in which the overseas subsidiaries are located. This paper also discusses the moderating effects of network learning modes on the relationship between the network structure of overseas subsidiaries in the host country and network learning performance. Sampling 123 Chinese subsidiaries of the overseas subsidiaries, empirical analysis presented here shows that: (1) the relationship between relationship-embeddedness strength and network learning performance is moderated negatively by exploration learning; (2) the relationship between network density and network learning performance is moderated positively by exploration learning; (3) the relationship between network density and network learning performance is moderated positively by exploitation learning; (4) the relationship between group centrality and network learning performance is moderated positively by exploitation learning. From this research, we find that network learning modes have important moderating effects on the relationship between the network structure of the host country and network learning performance. In order to improve network learning performance, acquire more resources in the host country and enhance international competence, overseas subsidiaries should select network learning modes in accordance with their network structure and adjust it when the mother company changes their position in the multinational corporation or their operation environments undergo significant change.
