摘要
公示语向来被称作"城市的脸孔",是给所有到中国来的外国人士留下第一印象的中国名片。随着中国国际交往的日益广泛和深入,都市公示语的译写问题,不仅为政府有关部门所重视,也越来越受到民众的关注。目前在许多城市,公示语逐渐采用中英双语来表示。但由于缺乏统一的管理,英语公示语翻译却不尽如意。错译、乱译、死译等现象比比皆是,有时甚至出现拼写错误的现象。
Public signs, as ＂the face of the city＂, are the first impression of all the foreigners in China. In international contacts with other countries, the C-E translation of public sings is paid more attention by both the government and the public. More and more cities adopt bilingual public signs now. However, there are many mistakes in the translation because of lack of unity.
