Objective To study the blood serum diversification of T cells subpopulation, and trace elements in children suffered from recurrent oral ulcer (ROU). Method Twenty five children with ROU (aged 2-12 years old) and 25 health children (aged 2-12 years old) were involved in the study. T cells subpopulations were tested by haemospasia and flow cytometry. The content of trace elements in serum was treated by atomic absorption spectraluminosity rite. Results The levels of CD3, CD4, CD4/CD8 and the contents of Zn and Fe in the children with ROU were lower than those in the health children, the statistic difference were remarkable (t=2.32, 5.05, 2.21, 4.27, 3.95, P〈0.05). The contents of Mg and Cu had no statistic difference between the two groups (t=0.25,1.93,P〉0.05). Conclusions The decrease of T cells subpopulation and the contents Zn and Fe may be related to the occurrence of ROU in children.
