A new type of layered materials pillared by heteropolyanions SiW 9M 3(M=Mn 2+ , Cr 3+ , Ti 3+ , Fe 3+ ) were synthesized by means of ion exchange reaction and characterized with elementary analysis, XRD, IR and DTA. The experiments showed that this pillared layered materials had higher catalytic activity for the epoxidation of maleic acid with H 2O 2.
