摘要《不可儿戏》乃王尔德喜剧代表作。该剧语言俏皮幽默,剧中人物妙语连珠。这有赖于作者对各种修辞手段的熟练驾驭,特别是"Ernest"一名的双关,是情节铺展的主线。因此该名双关意蕴的曲达,决定翻译的成败。台湾余光中先生的译本成功处理了该双关人名的翻译,并创造性地翻译了"Bunbury"一名。该剧译笔流畅生动,为同类翻译的典范。 The importance of Being Earnest is one of Oscar Wilde＇ s successful social comedies. The humorous effect and the wittiness of talks in the play are the result of author＇ s masterful use of various rhetorical devices, especially the punny name ＂Ernest＂, which unrolls the whole story. So how to convey the punny meaning of this name is crucial in translating the play. Strikingly, Yu Guangzhong not only handles it successfully with equal wit and vividehess, but also translates another important name ＂Bunbury＂ creatively. His version is vivid and expressive. It sets a good example for us.
