摘要
动物词汇在英汉两种语言中出现的频率都很高。文化制约着动物词的意义演变,而动物词的文化意义又折射出丰富的文化内涵。英汉两种文化的异同也反映在所使用的文化动物词汇之中。本文从大致相同、部分相同、完全相异及语义空缺四个方面对英汉动物词汇的文化意义进行了比较分析,并探讨了导致英汉动物词汇文化意义异同的文化成因。
There are a lot of animal words in both English and Chinese.Changes in the meaning of animal words are determined by culture of which the substantial content is in turn reflected by the cultural meanings.Similarities and Differences of the two languages are also reflected by the culturally-loaded Animal Words.Animal names in the English and Chinese languages have their respective lexical connotations（LCC） which,in comparison,fall into four categories：similarities,part similarities,distinction and vacancy in equivalence. An analysis is also made in the causative factors of the differences and similarities in two cultures.
