摘要
标示语的使用与国家、区域形象密切相关,是一个国家的形象工程。在江苏省常州市标示语翻译情况调查中,发现常州市城区标示语翻译中存在着大多数道路标示牌无英译,机械对译现象严重,规则与现实不谐调等问题。注重指导宣传类和禁令类标示语的翻译技巧,规范标示语翻译,有利于提升常州市国际形象。
The use of common signs and short notices is closely connected with the images of the countries or the districts,which is the vanity project of the country.The investigations conducted suggest that there exist some problems in the translation of common signs and short notices in Changzhou,such as road signs without English translations,word-for-word translation and the disharmony between rules and the reality.Attention should be paid to translating techniques for common signs of guidance and propaganda,forbidden signs,and translation unification of public signs so as to raise the international image of Changzhou City.
