罗斯金的教育背景,是罗斯金艺术思想具有深厚的宗教背景的主要原因。而罗斯金所处的时代背景,为罗斯金艺术思想的展开提供了契机。罗斯金艺术思想具有典型美与活力美的双重性,而他的建筑艺术思想同样具有哥特风格和自然主义的双重性。《建筑的七盏明灯》表达了他的部分建筑艺术思想,他的建筑艺术思想与现代主义运动存在着内在关联性。
Just as Ruskin's educational background planted the religious root in his artistic thought,so the times he lived in provided an opportunity for the development of his artistic thought.Ruskin's artistic thought has the dual nature of typical beauty and vitality.His architectural thought also has the dual nature of the Gothic style and the naturalistic style.The Seven Lamps of Architecture expresses part of his architectural thought,revealing the inherent relevance between his architectural thought and the Modern Movement.
