摘要
菜单是展示中华饮食文化的窗口,是服务人员与顾客交流沟通的桥梁,所以给中国菜一个相对统一的英文菜名是一件非常有意义的事。文章以《中文菜单英文译法》中的译例为语料,翻译原则为依据,尝试着以语用等值为视角来探讨中文菜单的英文译法。从而有助于中国饮食文化树立品牌,提升国际形象。
A menu is the window to show Chinese cuisine culture and the communication bridge between service men and customers, so it is meaningful to provide a relevant unified English version for Chinese cuisine. This paper takes the examples from Chinese Menu in English Version, bases on the principles of translation and tries to explore the approaches of Chinese-English menu translation from the perspective of pragmatic equivalence. The purpose is to set up Chinese cuisine brand and improve its international image.
