As an immigrant country., the United States has attracted immigrants from all over the world in the past 200 years. Among them, Asian Americans, coming from China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, India, etc., constitute an important part of minority ethnic groups in America. The number and development of Asian immigrants have been influenced and constrained by the U. S. Immigration Policy. Due to an adjustment in the U. S. Immigration Policy after WWII, the number of Asian immigrants has been growing so fast that it later became an Asian - American ethnic group. Therefore, we conclude that the construction of ethnic group is formed in specific time and specific background; the aim of the construction of ethnic group is to obtain maximum ethnic interests; the construction of ethnic group can overcome the boundaries between races and between nations.
