摘要
由于历史变迁,许多现代用语的内部关系都模糊不清了。如果忽略历史,运用现代理论解释这类现象的时候,可能失之主观。汉语有丰富的历史材料,借助语义研究的方法,广泛了解对象用语在历史上的不同形式,有助于理清这类成分的来源和理据。考察证明,"上厕所"中的"上"就来源于登上厕坑这一意义。
The inner connections among many modern Chinese expressions are not so evident anymore due to occurred chronological changes. Thus semantic research on rich chronological materials will greatly help the analysis of the origin and reasoning of these elements especially if one can examine the various forms from different historical periods of the targeted expressions. This paper demonstrates that the shang（上） in shang cesuo oreginated from the original meaning in ＂climbing the toilet＂ by applying the suggested principle.
