TBL is a new adult teaching model, which focuses on enhancing group collaboration among students. It was originated and further developed from the PBL model by American educator Michaelsen LK and has gradually received wider application in adult education. The au- thors have applied the TBL teaching model in the medical educational system for children health care, which, through setting up learning tar- gets, organizing effective group-learning and introducing practical evaluation system, has significantly improved students' motivation, sense of cooperation, and capacity for practical application of acquired knowledge. This experiment has renewed teachers' thinking on various fronts in- cluding objectives for teaching and learning, curriculum setup and evaluation methodology; it has further enhanced exchanges between students and teachers, thus improving the quality of clinical teaching.
