摘要
《荒原》是一首反映两性关系、描写伦敦风貌的"爱情诗"、"城市诗"。《荒原》的写作,反映了诗人在特定时期内心的苦闷、对于生活的失望,体现出了浓郁的"自我情绪"。但是,艾略特在理论上高标"非个人化",在创作中追求"普世化"。为了实现此种目的,艾略特在《荒原》写作中,选择运用了多种艺术手段,其中最为重要的有:设定特殊的叙述视角、刻意营造众语喧哗的文本图景、运用互文性写作、扩大诗歌的叙事描写范围。
The Waste Land is a "love","urban" poem reflecting the relation between two sexes and the scenery in London and other cities in Europe.The writing of the poem,showing T.S.Eliot's strong "ego-complex",reveals the mental suffering of the poet and his disappointment at life in a certain period of time.However,Eliot advocates the theory of "depersonalization" and pursues universality in his writing.For this purpose,Eliot employs quite a few artistic techniques in The Waste Land,such as choosing a special point of view,creating a miscellaneous textual scenery,using intertextuality,and expanding the scope of poetic materials.
