摘要
威廉·戈尔丁是英国当代最伟大的作家之一,他的小说不管是早期反映荒岛儿童生活的《蝇王》,还是后期表现当代成人生活的小说,始终关注的是宗教与人性问题,亦即:人的弃神和人性的邪恶,以及由此导致的人的堕落和死亡结局。因此,揭示戈尔丁的宗教与人性观,对于研究探讨戈尔丁的小说主题和艺术特征具有重要的意义。
William Golding was one of the greatest British writers. His novels, from Lord of Flies expressing the lives of children in a desert island to his later novels of contemporary adult lives, are always concerned with religion and human nature, namely： man＇ s disbelief in God and the evil of human nature as a result of which man is sure to his doom. Therefore, to study Golding＇ s ideas about religion and human nature is of great significance to the revelation of the themes and artistic features of Golding＇ s fictions.
