The paper gives a comprehensive introduction to the reduction principle in designing corrugated cartons for the purpose of com- modity packaging and analyzes, from the perspectives of raw material selection, corrugation optimization and overall design of cartons, the suit- able approach to realize moderate packaging of commodities.
