摘要
Background Depression is very common in coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) patients and increases the cost of patients’ care and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, but decreases their quality of life. Clinicians should routinely screen for depression in CABG perioperative period with certain kinds of survey instruments like the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), et al; meanwhile, should not hesitate to manage it with pharmacotherapy and psychosocial intervention or behavioral therapy.
