摘要
启蒙关系到人类的理智生活,西方文化史上的启蒙在普特南眼中历经了三个阶段。这三个阶段分别表现为对神和习俗的超越、对理性和民治的推崇以及对民主探究方式的追求,而三者之间内在的逻辑关系充分体现了人类理智生活不断地走向成熟。普特南、罗蒂以独特的实用主义方法评判了三次启蒙,细致地检讨了它们之间的微妙差别,对我们重建精神生活具有重要意义。
Enlightenment relates to the intelligent life of human being.According to Putnam,Enlightenment has gone through three stages in the history of western culture.They were respectively embodied as transcending Divinity and custom,canonizing rationality and government-by-people and pursuing the mode of democratic inquiry.The logical relationship among them adequately suggests that human beings have been striving for mature life without any corruption.Both Putnam and Rorty criticized the three stages of Enlightenments through Pragmatic methodology,and examined the subtle differences among them.Those criticisms are very important for us to reconstruct our own intelligent life.
