The protonation constants of the macrocycle H 2L 1 ( c meso 2,4,4,11,13,13 hexamethyl 1,5,10,14 tetraazacyclooctadecane N,N' diacetic acids)were determined potentiometricly and by computer fitting in 0.5 mol·L -1 KNO 3 solution at 25±0.1℃, 30±0.1℃ and 40±0.1℃. The stability constants of the 1∶1 complexes of H 2L 1 with La 3+ , Nd 3+ , Sm 3+ , Eu 3+ , Gd 3+ , Dy 3+ , Yb 3+ were determined by the same method at 40±0.1℃. The ΔH、 ΔS and ΔG of the coodination reaction of H 2L 1 with H + in the aqueous solution were found.
