When it comes to finding answers about the future of China's manufacturing industry,no matter if you approach it from an economic or cultural standpoint,all signs seem to point to Japan.In 2009,Chinese companies bought a total of 25 companies in Japan, while as of June of this year,18 have been bought so far.This is in contrast to the years 2007 and 2008,were only one company was bought.It is obvious that since 2009,Chinese acquirement of Japa- nese assets has entered a stage of explosive growth.It is no wonder that some Japanese media outlets make the claim that'China will buy Japan.'If you combine this with the recent news of China's GDP surpassing that of Japan's,words such as'ambition','on the rise',and'historic moment'could be used to describe the current situation. However,this is clearly not the whole story.
