Electromagnetic rail launcher usually works in the environment of strong magnetic field.The constitution working principle advantages,and applications prospect was introduced.An example of the development of electromagnetic rail gun in America and the launching experiment recently was presented.The problem to be solved and the development tendency were put forward.
