尊重读者就是要尊重读者的需要、权益与人格。尊重读者的需要就是要充分地、便捷地、友好地满足读者的需要。尊重读者的权益就是要保障读者享有的各种权益,尊重读者的隐私权、监督权、参与权。尊重读者的人格就是要在制度上、设施上、管理上尊重读者的人格。
The respect for the readers in library service is to respect their needs,rights and personality.To respect their need is to fully satisfy the readers′ need,to facilitate the satisfaction of their need,and to serve their need in a friendly way.To respect their right is to protect their rights,privacy and their supervisory rights and rights of participation.To respect their personality is to institutionally and managerially respect their personality with the necessary readier-friendly facilities.
