An Alternative Process for Preparation of 3,4-Dimethoxyphenylacetic Acid

摘要 3,4-二甲氧基苯乙酸(1)又名高藜芦酸,可用于合成β受体阻滞药贝凡洛尔(bevantolol)和抗心律失常药维拉帕米(verapamil)等,也是合成异喹啉类生物碱的关键中间体。 3,4-Dimethoxyphenylacetic acid was synthesized from 1,2-dimethoxybenzene by Friedel-Crafts reaction with ethyl oxalyl monochloride to give 3,4-dimethoxyphenylglyoxalic acid ethyl ester,which was subjected to Wolff-Kishner-Huang reaction with an overall yield of about 64%.
