摘要
在大学英语专业议论文写作教学中,我们发现不少学生作文存在以下问题:(1)观点不明确,论述松散,表达含混;(2)思维出现"非法跳跃(illicitjump)",逻辑关系朦胧;(2)分论点与论据之间缺乏关联性,在话题推进方面更显得力不从心。针对这种现状,我们认为,要想提高学生议论文写作水平,就必须强化写作者的主体意识以及写作过程中的元语用意识,在语言结构选择和语境构建上寻找突破口,通过话语标记语、强调结构以及让步策略等手段的运用来达到良好的论说效果。
It is found in the teaching of English argumentative writing for English majors that(1) viewpoints are inexplicitly presented and argumentation loosely organized with vague expressions;(2) blurred logical relations lead to 'illicit jumps' in their argumentation;(3) in addition to a general lack of relevance between subpoints and supporting details,there is an inefficient topic/theme progression.In light of these problems,this paper explores the intrinsic properties of argumentative writing and proposes an adaptation-based framework for argumentative writing.It is argued that the students should develop and enhance their metapragmatic awareness,starting with a conscious choice in linguistic structure and contextual construction.And thus the argumentative effect can be achieved through such metapragmatic devices as discourse markers,emphatic structure and concession strategy.
