By using thermal analysis methods, the thermoactivation processes of four kinds ofsilica supports had been studied. The effects of temperature elevation rate. particle size and silica typeon thermoactivation processes had been elucidated. Decreasing temperature elevation rate wouldaugment the dehydration amount of physisorbed water and dehydroxylation of surface silanols, and thehigher the temperature the larger the increased degree. The amount of dehydration and dehydroxylationwould vary with silica type and particle diameter. The difference between domestic and imported silicagels had also been discussed.
