摘要
在城市化的进程中,标示语在人们的生产、生活、旅游、交通等方面起着越来越重要的作用。英语标示语简洁、精确、标准,具有独特的语用特点。它常常大量采用静态词汇、缩略语、大众化词汇、规范标准词汇、现在时态、祈使语气、丰富的语体。研究、分析并掌握标示语的语言特征和风格,总结翻译模式并将模式用于汉语标示语的翻译,有助于翻译工作者在翻译过程中理解语意,选择词汇,掌握翻译规律,从而译出神韵。
During the urbanization,English public signs play a more and more important role in production,activity,tourism and transportation.English public signs are concise,precise and standard with special pragmatic features.Static vocabulary,acronym,every day words,standard words,present tense,imperative,and rich writing styles are often used.Study,analysis and mastery of the language characteristics,language styles of English public signs and summarizing the translating modes and put them into the activities of English-Chinese translation are helpful for the translators in understanding,choosing words,using translating modes in order to reveal the spirit of the signs.
