Poly(p phenylene sulfide)(p PPS) and poly (m phenylene sulfide)(m PPS) were synthesized from sodium sulfide (Na 2S), p dichlorobenzene(p DCB) and m dichlorobenzene (m DCB) in hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPA).Both m PPS and p PPS were characterized by elemental analysis,infrared spectroscopy,X ray diffraction and thermal analysis.The results showed that m PPS and p PPS were crystalline polymers with different crystalline structures.Tg,Tm and thermal stability of m PPS were lower than those of p PPS.
