摘要
针对影视字幕翻译过程中的文化缺省现象,从关联理论的研究角度进行探讨,对《老友记》中文字幕进行个案分析,采取不同的翻译策略来解决字幕翻译中的文化缺省现象,实现最佳关联,使目的语观众以最小的处理努力获得最大的语境效果。
According to Relevance Theory,translation is the communication between translators and target readers.Subtitle translation can be regarded as the communication between filmmakers and target audiences.There are so many problems in present subtitle translation,among which the ones in the translation of cultural default are most awkward.This paper makes an analysis of subtitle translation in Friends based upon relevance theory.To solve these problems caused by cultural elements,translators should adopt different strategies to achieve the optimal relevance and also produce the optimal contextual effects to the target language audiences to understand the original intention and meaning with the least information-processing effort.
