摘要
丘逢甲是中国近代史上的著名爱国人士,由于志向相同,他与新加坡著名华侨丘菽园多有交往,情谊深厚。丘逢甲的爱国思想和对南洋华侨的关心,通过丘菽园及他所创办的《天南新报》传递到南洋华侨社会。1900年丘逢甲受命下南洋宣慰华侨,在南洋各地发表演说,呼吁尊孔教、办学堂,在南洋华侨中产生了广泛的影响。
Qiu Fengjia was a famous patriot in modern Chinese history.Because of the same ambition,he often communicated with Qiu Shuyuan who was a well-known overseas Chinese in Singapore.They founded profound friendship.Qiu Fengjia＇s patriotism and concern for overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia had been delivered to the Singapore＇s Chinese community by Qiu Shuyuan and Tiannan Xinbao.In 1900,Qiu Fengjia was assigned to propagate Chinese government decree and placate Overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia.He delivered speeches to call for respect for Confucianism and running schools.What he did produced extensive effects among overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia.
