摘要
培根的著名作品《论读书》至今仍在世界各地广被诵读,其成功除了依靠精深的思想内涵之外,还在于其工整紧凑的篇章构建方式。在现代语言学理论特别是系统功能语言学理论中,主位推进模式是用来描写语篇构建模式的重要方法之一,因此可以解释《论读书》在语篇意义上的成功之处。
Of Studies by Francis Bacon has been widely appreciated for almost 400 years. It＇s successful not only because of the thoughts and ideas but also due to the tidy and compact writing style. Thematic progression pattern is believed to an effective and important way to describe and explain text construction in modern linguistics. Here the thematic progression pattern of Of Studies will be explored so as to find the features of the article＇s text meaning.
